The one they call Spiderman

Spiderman, spidey, Peter Parker are all names I've been called over the last 2 weeks. Why you ask... well a picture is worth a thousand words...

Ok, now for the explanation...I went to bed 3 Friday nights ago and awoke on Saturday morning with a bit of a sore leg. It gradually got worse over the next 4 days, until I was finally convinced by the guys at work (thanks Caroline) to go see my doctor. At this stage I only had a fairly large lump on the back of my leg. My doctor had a fit when he saw it and had a go at me for not coming in sooner. His verdict... most likely a white tail spider bite whilst I was asleep. So I've spent the last 3 weeks limping severely, a day in hospital and around 15 appointments at my doctor's surgery.

The above photos were taken by a nurse when I was game to look at my leg again... This was 2.5 weeks and 2 courses of a strong antibiotic later. At is peak, the hole was about the size of an Australian 50c piece. Sorry to the poor quality, they were taken on my mobile phone...

At one stage it was looking like I might have to delay my trip... But thankfully the healing process has be very quick; all thanks to my doctor.

The moral of this story... when you have an unexplained sore leg go see a doctor
